June 2008 These links are only for those who have the original version of Windows 95 and need to install the updates to Windows 95a. These are updates, not upgrades. They will not upgrade Windows 95 to Windows 95b or to Windows 98. That can only be done by purchasing the upgrade software distributed by Microsoft. If you're not sure which version you have, then open Control Panel and double click the System icon. Under the General tab, look at the version number displayed. If your version is 4.00.950, then you have the original and need the updates. If your version is 4.00.950a, then you already have the Service Pack 1 update installed. If your version is 4.00.950b, then you have OSR2 and you don't need the update files. For a complete list, see Windows 95 Updates.
